TigerTalk in NYC on Dec 1
“Smart Solutions
for Smart Cities” will be held on Thursday, December 1 at 6:30 pm at the
Princeton Club of New York in midtown Manhattan. Check-in begins at
6:00pm and a networking reception will follow at approximately 7:30pm.
Please register at TigerTalks. All Princeton alumni are invited, but seating is limited so register early.
By
2050, over 70 percent of the world’s population is expected to live in
cities. Challenges related to population density, water supply, climate
change, aging infrastructure, traffic congestion, and natural and
man-made hazards (such as earthquakes, tsunamis, and terrorist acts)
amplify the risk and threaten the quality of life of urban residents.
The next TigerTalks in the City panel discussion will feature Princeton faculty and staff on the topic of “Smart Solutions for Smart Cities”.
Princeton’s
Chief Information Officer will lead a discussion on systems stability,
privacy, security and implementation in a highly inter-connected
IoT
world. Faculty from the Department of Civil and Engineering and the
School of Architecture will share research on how to protect cities from
natural disasters, make buildings more energy efficient and inviting
through new materials and applications, and preserve public spaces in
the face of substantially greater population densities.
