Join us for First Fridays, a monthly recurring event for undergraduate and graduate Princeton alumni, graduate students, and parents. On the first Friday of each month, area alumni and their guests will meet to enjoy a prix fixe luncheon buffet at the Nassau Club in downtown Princeton. As a special bonus for PA3, a Princeton PhD candidate will present his/her work to the group in this informal setting. Topics vary monthly and are always interesting!
This month, we will be joined by Josue Sanz-Robinson, a graduate student in Electrical Engineering. Josh is currently involved in a team project on developing flexible, large-area, electronic systems for monitoring civil infrastructure (e.g., bridges). This article gives a general introduction to structural health monitoring.
Specially priced at $25/person (or $30 if you choose not to pay PA3's annual dues), lunch includes the Nassau Club’s full buffet as well as a complementary beverage (wine, beer, soft drink). Pre-registration is required.
Date: Friday, June 8th, 2012
Time: 12 noon - 2 pm
Location: Nassau Club, 6 Mercer St, Princeton, NJ
Nassau Club membership is not necessary to attend this event.

"Are You There, McPhee?" at McCarter Theater

PA3 members can pay $20 for ANY AVAILABLE SEAT in the house, normally priced up to $60. Also, admin fees for phone and internet purchases will be waived. Please mention ALUMNI when you order your tickets through the ticket office: 609-258-ARTS (2787) or on the McCarter's website .
Following the show, PA3 will host a complimentary reception with wine and sweets in the Lockwood Lobby of the Matthews Theater (main theater). The Director and cast of the show have been invited to join us. Note: the play is being held in the Berlind Theater (lower theater, closest to the WaWa).
The show:
A Nantucket house with a mysterious past. A pair of abandoned children. An 11 pound lobster. Master playwright John Guare (House of Blue Leaves, Six Degrees of Separation) takes us on an epic and suspenseful ride in his newest play, a McCarter Theatre commission. Edmund Gowery is trapped and knows the only way to escape is to change his life—he just doesn’t know how. Guare spins a darkly comic and spine-tingling tale in what promises to be an unforgettable theatrical experience.
Check out the teaser trailer.
