Join us for a discussion, including Q&A, of Putin's war in Ukraine, including a fascinating look at the diplomatic steps that led from the dissolution of the USSR to the current catastrophe in Ukraine.  Ambassador Kinsman is one of Canada's most distinguished diplomats and is frequently asked by media for his assessment of foreign affairs.

He recently authored a paper on the origins of the war in Ukraine, which was published in Canada's  Policy Magazine, for which he is principal foreign policy editor.

Biography

Jeremy Kinsman (Princeton ’63, Institut d'études politiques de Paris ’65) can fairly be called the dean of the Canadian diplomatic corps. During his career, he has served as the Canadian ambassador to the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan,Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Armenia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Italy, Albania, and the European Union. He was also the Canadian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

In 2007, Ambassador Kinsman was Diplomat-in-Residence at Princeton’s School of Public and International Affairs.   He has also been Regents' Lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley and Distinguished Diplomatic Visitor at Ryerson University, Toronto. He has been a member of the Foreign Affairs Council of Premier Justin Trudeau.

Kinsman is a regular contributor to print media and TV, notably as lead foreign affairs writer for Policy Magazine.
