PA3 Event Grants - Apply for up to $300!

Request for Proposals:

PA3 Event Grants
(Receive Up to $300 for Your Event!)

Do you have an idea for an event that may be interesting to other Princeton alumni and haven’t the funds or ability to reach out to other local alumni?   Here’s your chance to get it started…with a grant for up to $300!  All ideas are welcome.  Keep reading for details...

The Princeton Area Alumni Association (PA3) requests grant applications for PA3 events.   We are especially interested in events that 1) are a different activity than previously tried, 2) interest a different segment of our constituents, and 3) are located outside of the Princeton area.   Our region encompasses New Brunswick to Mansfield, and Flemington to Freehold.  The demographics of our members span the gamut of ages, ethnicities, professions, interests, etc.   As such, the PA3 Executive Committee is always looking for new ideas and outreach.

Here are the details:
Please submit in writing (email is fine) a brief description of your idea and your estimate of costs.  Although your event may target a group or area, you must agree to invite all alumni that live within our region to attend (including graduate students and parents of current students). You may limit the total number of attendees, if you like.  We will certainly help with the event if you need it:  advertising, supporting planning and logistics, collecting RSVPs and/or ticket payments (if desired), decorating with PA3 banners or other paraphernalia, and reimbursing expenses up to $300.

Please note:
The grant monies cannot be used for commercial interests or to be donated to a charity or cause.  It can be used to buy supplies or tickets for a charity event at which PA3 members participate.

Submit proposals to:

There is no due date.  Multiple proposals from one person are welcome. You will be notified within 2 weeks if your proposal is accepted.

Thank you!

PA3 First Friday Lunch - July 13th, 2012

First Friday Lunch at the Nassau Club - July 13th, 2012

Join us for First Fridays, a monthly recurring event for undergraduate and graduate Princeton alumni, graduate students, and parents.  On the first Friday of each month, area alumni and their guests will meet to enjoy a prix fixe luncheon buffet at the Nassau Club in downtown Princeton.  As a special bonus for PA3, a Princeton PhD candidate will present his/her work to the group in this informal setting.  Topics vary monthly and are always interesting!

Julianne Werlin, a PhD candidate in the English Department, will join us for lunch.  Julianne's research is on Early Modern utopian literature, particularly the writings of Francis Bacon, James Harrington, and Margaret Cavendish. Julianne will discuss the relationship between literary fantasy and serious political theory in utopias, and suggest why each needs the other.

Specially priced at $25/person (or $30 if you choose not to pay PA3's annual dues), lunch includes the Nassau Club’s full buffet as well as a complementary beverage (wine, beer, soft drink). Pre-registration is required.
